Sharon Audley Munyaka

Professional background and experience:

Sharon Munyaka is an Industrial and Organisational Psychologist working across South Africa. A firm believer in focusing on what is right with people, Sharon works at an individual, team and organisational level to positively transform behaviour in the workplace. She is a strong facilitator and holds transformative conversations across all job levels. Sharon utilises her broad skills base and diverse toolkit to unlock potential and to move the conversation to where it needs to get to.

Sharon holds a doctorate in Industrial Psychology from the Nelson Mandela University in South Africa. She is a registered Industrial and Organisational Psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HPCSA) and has over 20 years of experience in positively transforming behaviour in the workplace. Sharon has worked across multiple industries. She was invited and selected by Common Purpose, UK to be part of the global CSCLeaders 2019 cohort to answer the question of how to build resilience in cities across Commonwealth countries. Sharon uses her expertise in positive psychology to facilitate the development of the required levels of psychological capital, psychological climate and team commitment as it relates to optimum performance in organisations. She supports leadership teams across South Africa to create focus and productivity in uncertain times.

Mediation experience and style:

Sharon is an accredited mediator with Conflict Dynamics in South Africa and the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), UK. Sharon has an interest in working on commercial and medical mediation matters. She has facilitated on several relationship building processes in higher education institutions and has mediated conflict in organisations mainly at a leadership level. Sharon is passionate about education and uses her vocation for social progress. She is a recognised expert witness on civil litigation matters across South African courts. She also works on arbitration matters in the workplace.

Facilitation experience and style:

In Sharon’s role as a Work Psychologist, part of her work is conflict resolution and she has facilitated several sessions in higher education, in private sector organisations and in public sector organisations. She also conducts one on one interviews to gather data on the dispute and draw themes to design the workshop. As an accredited Theory U Facilitator (MIT, Presencing Institute), Sharon applies these methods extensively in her work. Sharon is part of the PI Faculty for the United Nations SDG Leadership Labs.

Coaching experience and style:

Sharon does leadership coaching across sectors with a keen interest in high-potential leaders moving up the leadership pipeline. She is accredited in the Results Based Coaching, ORSC, LUMINA and the Enneagram. She also teaches coaching modules at business schools. Sharon’s strength lies in being an igniter of potential and working with a leader to achieve their desired results. She has worked extensively on the leadership programmes for Citibank, Nelson Mandela University Business School, Henley Business School, RCLFoods, HERS-SA, SANLAM etc. She is also an executive coach for Breakfast Club Africa which coaches leaders across Africa.
